A man has been charged with murder following the fatal stabbing of a 19-year-old in the Perth suburb of Aubin Grove on Christmas Eve. The incident has shaken the typically quiet community, prompting a homicide investigation and a plea for public assistance.

On December 24th, police responded to reports of a stabbing near Talisker Gate in Aubin Grove just after 10:00 PM. Upon arrival, officers discovered a 19-year-old man suffering from stab wounds in a car park. Paramedics rushed the victim to a local hospital, but he tragically died a short time later.
Arrest and Court Appearance
An 18-year-old man from Byford has been taken into custody and formally charged with murder. He appeared in court on Saturday and was remanded in custody, with a future court date scheduled for early January. Authorities have stated that two other men, who were known to the victim, are currently assisting with the ongoing investigation.
Witness Account and Community Reaction
A local resident, identified only as Brenton, described a disturbing scene. “I was probably just watching a bit of YouTube on my phone and I coudl see all the lights coming through and just weird noises, and I thought ‘what the bloody hell is going on?'” he recounted. “I looked out the window and I just seen all the detectives, all the cars out the front, and found out someone lost their life.” Brenton, who lives just 30 meters from the scene, expressed his fear, particularly given the presence of his eight-week-old baby.
Residents have shared that Aubin Grove is generally a peaceful area, and the car park where the incident occurred is usually well-lit. Though, they noted that the spotlights were switched off on the night of the stabbing. “It’s [usually] a nice little pocket of heaven,” Brenton said.

The homicide squad is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the death. Investigators are urging anyone with information, including mobile phone footage, dash-cam recordings, or CCTV footage from the area, to contact Crime Stoppers.
