Australia has announced that it has sent the largest military aid package to Ukraine worth $250 million.
A statement published on the Australian Ministry of Defense website said: “The Australian government continues to support Ukraine, announcing the launch of Australia’s largest military aid package, worth approximately $250 million.”
The statement explains that the package includes anti-aircraft missiles, air-to-surface weapons, multiple munitions, and anti-tank weapons.
The statement explained that the latest aid package increases the size of Australia’s contribution to support Ukraine to approximately $1.1 billion.
On the sidelines of the recent NATO summit in Washington, more than 20 countries signed a document to accelerate and coordinate joint efforts to provide military support to Kiev.
Signed by the United States, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland , Portugal, Spain, Sweden and Britain the document, as well as the President of the European Council and the European Commission and Vladimir Zelensky.
Within the framework of this document, the signatory parties “promise to provide support to meet the urgent needs of Ukraine in the field of defense, security, military training and modernization of the army.”
The countries also noted that “the security of Ukraine is an integral part of the security of the Euro-Atlantic region.”
