The Australian team is scheduled to play 3 Tests, 3 ODIs and a Twenty20 cricket series against Pakistan from the 4th. The national team has reached Pakistan for this. The team is scheduled to stay in Pakistan until April 5. The Australian team last visited Pakistan in 1998 and played in Tests and ODIs. It has been 24 years since then and is currently touring the country.
The bus carrying the Sri Lankan cricket team that was touring Pakistan in 2009 was attacked by terrorists. Other national teams were reluctant to tour the country next to the event. As the Australian team was preparing to tour Pakistan 5 years ago, that trip was canceled due to a bomb blast in Lahore.
