Doha: The authorities stopped the attempt to smuggle tobacco to Qatar. The inspection was carried out by the Maritime Customs Department at Hamad Port. According to the Customs, the prohibited items were found during the inspection conducted after suspicions were raised about the export containing food items.
A total of 1,338 sacks of chewing tobacco were recovered, weighing approximately 1,672.5 kilograms.
A few days ago, authorities at Hamad Port Customs seized coconuts and limes and tobacco they were trying to smuggle in.
