The Fedesarrollo think tank released a shocking report this Monday, revealing that technological automation directly threatens six out of ten jobs in Colombia. The study highlights that adults between 30 and 59 years old with secondary education are at greatest risk of being affected by this phenomenon that is rapidly transforming the employment landscape.

Among the most vulnerable professions are administrative personnel, service workers, agricultural workers, traders and salespeople, posing a significant challenge to the stability of the labor market in the country.

Fedesarrollo points out that the professions least susceptible to automation They are those that require a high level of creativity, social intelligence and physical manipulation skills. The release highlights psychologists, artists, social workers, nurses, occupational therapists and construction workers as examples of occupations that could better resist the effects of automation.

Luis Fernando Mejía, executive director of Fedesarrollo, urged the urgent implementation of policies focused on improving the quality and relevance of education. He also emphasized the need for retraining programs for occupations most vulnerable to technological change.
