Awami League has announced detailed programs on the occasion of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s birthday and National Children’s Day.
On the occasion of Bangabandhu’s birthday, national and party flags will be hoisted at Bangabandhu Bhavan, central office and all offices of the organization across the country at 6:30 am on Sunday (March 17). Tribute to the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman kept in the historic Bangabandhu Bhavan premises at 32 Dhanmondi at 7 am.
Meanwhile, at 10 am on March 17, national leaders led by Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will pay their respects at the tomb of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. At the same time they will participate in milad and doa mahfil and children gathering.
On the occasion of the father of the nation’s birthday, prayer and milad mahfil will be held in all mosques of the country including Bad Zohar Baitul Mukarram National Mosque as part of a nationwide special prayer program in all religious institutions including mosques, temples, pagodas, churches.
Also Christian community at Mirpur Baptist Church (3/7 at Senpara, Pavarta, Mirpur-10) at 6pm, Sabujbagh Dharmarajik Buddhist Mahavihar at 10am and Buddhist community at Merul Badda International Buddhist Vihar in capital at 6pm and Hindu at Dhakeshwari National Temple at 11.30am The community organized prayer meetings.
Also, on the occasion of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s birthday, a discussion meeting has been organized on behalf of the party at Dhaka District Awami League Bhaban in Tejgaon on Monday, March 18. Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will preside over the meeting.
