An object (spark) scattered in a meteorite coming from space to Earth is found by a corporate villain (Sharath Kelkar). He puts it to use and begins a plan to dig into the Earth’s core and extract resources for fuel. The extraterrestrials realize that the plan will destroy Earth and send one of their own to Earth. Arriving on Earth, the alien confronts the villain and kidnaps Spark, taking away the spaceship that brought him. Tamil (Sivakarthikeyan), a farmer concerned about organic farming and environmental welfare in the village, comes to Chennai for survival. The alien befriends the Tamil. Tamil names it as tattoo. Together they try to rescue the spaceship. The villain tries to rescue Spark from Tattoo. Who will win this match? What happened to Tamil? Is the earth saved? The rest of the story answers the questions.

Hollywood has a lot of movies about aliens coming to Earth. Rare in Tamil. And Hollywood movies portray them as harming the earth. On the contrary, director Ravikumar is fascinating by taking up the new angle of coming to save the earth. His first film ‘Today Today Tomorrow’ was interestingly shot with the idea of time travel. He has once again taken up a science fiction story. The graphics are of the highest quality ever seen in Tamil cinema. The graphics team put a lot of effort into creating the aliens and their world. Similarly, the character of the tattoo also has its speech, actions, and are arranged in such a way that children and adults can enjoy it.

The comedy scenes created with the alien, the hero and his friends, the conflicts with the villain, and the fight scenes between the hero and the villain’s henchmen are enjoyable. At the same time, the story-screenplay is weak and repeats things that have already been discussed in many films like organic farming. The absence of strong backgrounds for the hero, villain, and alien also hinders the film from connecting with the film.

The extraterrestrial arrival on Earth, the spaceship, and the Spark could have given more vivid explanations. Sivakarthikeyan gives the character what it needs with dedication and a place in mind. Despite being given an unconventional background as a science teacher to the grooms, the heroine Rahul Preet Singh’s character does not make any impact. Balasaravanan as Sivakarthikeyan’s village friend, Karunakaran and Yogi Babu as city friends make us laugh from time to time.

Isha Gobikar, who has come to Tamil cinema after many years, has been wasted. Actor Siddharth’s voice makes Tatoo’s character more palatable. A.R. In Rahman’s music, the songs and the background music are not impressive. Karunakaran’s house, villain, office, and Muthuraj’s art direction attracts attention. As an entertaining film based on aliens, ‘Ayalan’ is captivating beyond its flaws.
