Azerbaijan and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) discussed regulating resources to ensure energy efficiency.

As Day.Az reported on Thursday, Azerbaijani Minister of Economy Mikail Jabbarov wrote about this on social network X.

“During a meeting with representatives of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, we discussed the progress of preparations for COP29, which will be held in Azerbaijan, promoting dialogue with international organizations and systemic regulation of resources to ensure energy efficiency,” the publication says.

According to the EBRD, as of November 30, 2023, the loan portfolio of EBRD projects in Azerbaijan was estimated at 911 million euros. The majority of the portfolio (90 percent, or 820 million euros) is aimed at investments in sustainable infrastructure, seven percent (64 million euros) on investments in industry, trade and agriculture, and three percent (27 million euros) on investments in financial institutes.

It should be noted that the EBRD has been cooperating with Azerbaijan since 1992 and is the country’s leading investor.
