The pair Khofifah Indar Parawansa and Emil Dardak, who are being supported by the Golkar Party, are said to be strong candidates in the upcoming East Java gubernatorial election.
This has caused a number of political parties to compete with each other to nominate candidates to be nominated in the East Java gubernatorial election.
The General Chairperson of Echo of Maharani Nusantara Struggle (GPMN) Daddy Palgunadi said that political parties that will concentrate on the East Java gubernatorial election must be more careful in nominating their candidates.
“This means that political parties such as PDIP must be careful in selecting the candidate they will nominate later,” said Daddy, in his statement, Saturday (6/7).
The reason, said Daddy, is that competing with the Khofifah-Emil pair is not an easy matter considering that both are incumbents and figures who are already widely known in East Java.
“So, we really have to take this into account when choosing the candidate we nominate,” said Daddy.
It is known that a number of ministers from PDIP, such as Social Minister Tri Rismaharini, Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Azwar Anas, and Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, have been mentioned as potential candidates for the East Java Governor.
