A double from Wndel Silva allowed FC Porto B to beat Académico de Viseu 2-0, at Fontelo, at the end of the 28th round of the 2nd League, with the Porto forward also wasting a penalty .
In a game still marked by the absence of Domen Gril, the regular Slovenian goalkeeper at Académico de Viseu, replaced by João Monteiro, who made his debut this season in official games, Wendel Silva scored for the ‘blue and whites’ at 59, from penalty, and 76, having also missed a penalty, at 90.
The best opportunities of the first half belonged to Académico, through André Clóvis, in the 11th and 21st minutes, while FC Porto B only had a shot in the 40th, through a shot wide by Rodrigo Mora.
The first sign of danger in the second half also came from the Viseense team, in the 52nd minute, and, following a free kick, Arthur Chaves appeared isolated, but the shot crossed went wide of Diogo Fernandes’ goal.
After a first warning from Gonçalo Sousa, FC Porto B took the lead in the 59th minute, through Wendel Silva, converting a penalty punishing Marquinho’s foul on Vasco Sousa.
At a disadvantage, Jorge Simão bet on a triple change, with the introduction of Steven Petkov, Samba Koné and Nduwarugira, but saw his team suffer the second goal in the immediate play, with Arthur Chaves missing a cut in the area, taken advantage of by Wendel Silva for ‘two’, in the 76th minute.
