Manama: Bahrain Kerala Samajam Onam celebration ‘Shravanam 22’ will start on Thursday. The National Film Award winner Nanchiamma will be felicitated at a function to be held at 7.30 pm. Renowned playback singers like Nanjiamma, Najeem Arshad, Nitya Maman and Jinsha Haridas will sing songs in the song mela that will be held afterwards.
The program will start on Friday at 7 pm with a song mela by famous singer KS Chitra. MA Yousafali will officially inaugurate the program in the function that follows. Bahraini Minister of Social Welfare Osama Bin Ahmed Khalaf Al Azfur and Indian Ambassador Piyush Srivastava will be the chief guests. KS Chitra, prominent playback singers Nishad, Rupa Revathi and others will participate in the song mela that will continue after the inaugural session.
Bahrain Keraliya Samaj President P.V. A committee headed by Radhakrishna Pillai, MP Raghu, Shankar Pallur etc. is leading the celebrations. A Kutan LED TV has also been installed outside the Samajam Hall for the event which is expected to attract thousands of spectators. The grounds near the Samaj have been prepared for car parking.
