From 17 to 30 September 2024, in anticipation of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), ЗАО “Baku Steel Company” in collaboration with QGallery organizes first international metal symposium Baku Steel Art 2024the organizers told Day.Az.
Artists from 7 countries (Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey, Romania, Israel, Bulgaria, India) will take part in Baku Steel Art 2024.
The main goal is to demonstrate how art and metallurgy can become catalysts for environmental change and sustainable development. This international project offers a new perspective on the interaction between art and industry in the context of global environmental challenges. This unique event will be a landmark gathering of craftsmen and artists from around the world whose creations embody the grace and power of this material.
Participants of the symposium at the Baku Steel Company site will not only demonstrate their amazing works, but also share their experiences, exchange ideas, inspiring each other to new artistic searches. The magic of creativity will be resurrected in the very heart of the city, where historical traditions are harmoniously intertwined with modern trends.
Baku Steel Art 2024 will be a platform for dialogue between cultures and styles, opening up horizons for creativity and modern approaches in the art of working with metal. This is a chance to plunge into the vibrant world of expressive art, where every element and glow of metal will speak of the endless possibilities of the human imagination.
Observing the process of creating metallurgical products, we feel the mystery hidden in every spark that flashes during welding. Metal craftsmen are like alchemists, transforming cold raw materials into objects that can inspire, surprise, or even touch the soul. It is this tandem of craftsmanship and technology that together create a new space for art, where steel elements become not only a constructive basis, but also carriers of an emotional message.
Baku Steel Art artists won’t just use metal; they will make stories out of it. Each installation is the result of careful work, an analogy between the strength of steel and the fragility of human feelings. As in classical works, the immutability of the concept of beauty will be revealed here, which seems to be able to withstand time, but in reality is permeated by the variability of human perception and admiration.
Baku Steel Art 2024 is a unique international event where you can observe the process of creative work of artistic forging masters from different countries. Whether an individual, a team or a group of artists, the aim of organizing the Baku Steel Art series of international symposiums is to demonstrate how metal products and their use in art can help advance the UN Sustainable Development Goals (Goal 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure). The existence of such a vibrant cultural platform as Baku Steel Art will strengthen international connections and inspire a new generation of artists to create works that embody the harmony between art and industry.
The organizers of Baku Steel Art 2024 are Baku Steel Company CJSC, the first metallurgical company in Azerbaijan to receive European and American quality certificates for steel production, and in a short period became the largest metallurgical enterprise in the Caucasus, as well as the QGallery art gallery – one of the leading exhibition venues in the capital, the first from private galleries in Baku, who has established constant contacts with foreign colleagues.
