Balayya’s Aarat in theatres; Vijay and Ajith were rendered ineffective; 54 crores first day collection

Balayya’s Aarat has left Ajith and Vijay unimpressed at the box office collection. Veerasimha Reddy, which hit the theaters on January 12 as a Sankranti release, collected Rs 54 crore (global collection) on its first day. Maitri Movie Makers, the makers of the movie, have officially released the collection information. Veera Simha Reddy has also achieved the record of the film with the biggest opening this year.

38.7 crore from Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and 3.25 crore from Karnataka. The overseas collection also earned 8 crores. Prior to this, Balayya’s highest opening day collection was Akhanda. The film collected 29.6 crores on the first day.

Trade analysts report that Waris has collected 49 crores and Tuniv 42 crores worldwide. Waris Telugu version not releasing on the same day also affected the collection. The Telugu version will release on January 14.

Both the films are getting better collections on the second day as well. There are also reports that the collection from Waris Kerala is approaching 10 crores. The film collected 4 crores from Kerala on the first day. Waris was released in 400 screens in Kerala.
