The Baltimore Ravens unveiled their most extensive uniform overhaul since 1999 on Thursday, introducing “The Next Flight” collection at a PSL holder event in Columbia, Maryland.
The changes mark the first major redesign in three decades, featuring two fresh helmets, iridescent fabric elements, and the city name “Baltimore” stitched onto all jerseys for the first time.
Head coach Jesse Minter and offensive, defensive, and special teams coordinators spoke at the unveiling, joined by former stars Todd Heap, Terrell Suggs, Matt Stover, and Jamal Lewis.
The matte black “Darkness Helmet” features black talon stripes and a two-toned Ravens logo with piercing red eyes, mirroring the design above the player tunnel at M&T Bank Stadium.
The updated “Purple Rising” helmet now carries the primary Ravens logo, allowing broader uniform combinations while retaining its metallic-purple shell, gold talon stripes, and gold facemask.
Iridescent, color-shifting fabric emulates a raven’s feathers, appearing purple in light and revealing darker tones when faded, applied to jersey numbers, sleeve shields, back collars, and pant talon stripes.
Each jersey number includes a midnight purple stroke, replacing the previous drop shadow and gold trim across all three primary jersey colors.
Pant designs now mimic raven claws instead of straight stripes, with a diagonal cut representing the Calvert crest from the Baltimore and Maryland flags.
Collar patterns depict a raven’s wings spread in a threat display, and the inside of collars will bear stitched phrases: “Play Like a Raven,” “Purple Rising,” or “Darkness There and Nothing More.”
White road jerseys will read “Baltimore” across the chest instead of “Ravens,” with the city name similarly added to the back collars of purple, black, and Purple Rising jerseys.
The Flock Shop at M&T Bank Stadium will begin selling the new jerseys Friday at 8 a.m., following the exclusive PSL holder preview.
How the new helmets expand uniform flexibility
The revised Purple Rising helmet’s adoption of the primary logo allows it to pair with multiple jersey colors, increasing mix-and-match options beyond its original 2024 alternate-use limitation.

Why the iridescent fabric choice matters
The color-shifting material directly references the structural optics of raven feathers, a deliberate biological homage rather than a generic aesthetic choice, according to team design notes.
What the collar inscriptions reveal about team culture
The three stitched phrases — drawn from Edgar Allan Poe’s “The Raven” and team mottos — serve as private reminders for players, visible only when the jersey is removed or adjusted.
When will fans be able to purchase the new uniforms?
The Flock Shop at M&T Bank Stadium opens Friday at 8 a.m. For public sales.
Which former Ravens attended the unveiling event?
