Banco Santander increases its stake in the fintech Ebury to 66.91%

Banco Santander, chaired by Ana Botín, has increased its stake in the Ebury company to 66.91%.

The fintech is specialized in foreign exchange risk hedging services for companies.

As of April 30, 2022, Banco Santander had a 54.5% stake in Ebury, after ending 2021 with 50.1%. At the present time, the entity chaired by Ana Botín owns a 66.91% stake, as reflected in the accounts that Ebury has presented in the United Kingdom, the country in which its parent company is located.

Banco Santander has raised its stake in the company’s capital by purchasing class A ordinary shares from other shareholders.

Ebury concluded its fiscal year in April 2022 with losses of 34.1 million pounds (38.4 million euros), which implies a cut in the red numbers of 41.5%. For its part, revenue increased by 2.7%, to 109.8 million pounds (126.6 million euros).
