The Minister of Health and Family Welfare called on everyone to come forward by doing more to serve the people by saying less to fulfill Bangabandhu’s dream. Samant Lal Sen. He said, no matter how many speeches and memorials we give about Bangabandhu in various meetings and seminars, his dream will never be fulfilled unless we can work in the service of people. It is very difficult to see the plight of people in Gramganj while seeking health care. Bangabandhu will be given due respect if we can do something for them.

He said these things while speaking as the chief guest at a discussion program on the historical leadership of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the country’s development, organized at Bangmata Sheikh Fazilatun Necha Mujib Convention Hall in the capital on Saturday (March 30).

The health minister said, Bangabandhu said to spread medical services in every place in the villages. But when I go to remote areas, it is very painful to see the plight of people. If we cannot fix these places, then the dream of the father of the nation will never be realized.

He said, I and my state minister are both going to different parts of the country, we will start this program again after Eid. I want to go to rural areas and bring healthcare to people’s doorsteps. We will do whatever it takes to make the country’s medical system accessible to people.

Dr. Samant Lal Sen said, we have to fulfill Bangabandhu’s dream by working in the service of sick people by speaking less. Bangabandhu had many dreams about this country. He has fought for 23 years so that Bangladesh will be independent one day. The country of his long dream has become independent. But he did not get the opportunity to arrange the country according to his dreams. He was in power for only three years.

He also said that although the country became independent after a long nine-month war, there was no wealth or money in the country. There is no sector in which he has not started working with the responsibility of that famine-stricken country. All the good initiatives in the health sector were started by the father of the nation. They were not implemented in the way he started because of various nefarious circles in the country. Now his privileged daughter Jannetri Sheikh Hasina is implementing her father’s work one by one.

The minister said that our duty is to implement Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s initiatives for the people. To do that, we don’t have to say big things, we have to act. That’s why we have to go down to the field to show our ability by working less words.

In the speech of the special guest, State Minister of Health Dr. Rokeya Sultana said that Bangladesh was born after the 23-year sacrifice of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. How many days he worked without food to unite the people of the country is not counted. Many countries in the world have been fighting for freedom for ages, but have not been able to become independent. How Bangladesh could, how India rushed to help Bangladesh in the liberation war! These are not like that anymore.

He said, Bangabandhu had courage, chest was big. That is why Bangladesh became independent so early. Many countries are not able to become independent because they do not have a brave leader like Bangabandhu.

President of Bangladesh Medical Association Dr. Azizur Rahman, Secretary of Health Education and Family Welfare Department, also spoke at the meeting. Dr. Mustafa Jalal Mohiuddin, President of Independence Physicians Council. Dr. Jamal Uddin Chowdhury, VC of BSMMU. Dean Mohammad Nurul Haque, Director General of Health Department ABM Khurshid Alam, Director General of Health Education Department Professor Tito Mia, Director General of Family Planning Department Sahan Ara Banu, Director General of Nursing and Midwifery Department Maksura Noor, Acting Secretary of Health Care Department Muhammad Wahiduzzaman (Additional Secretary) and other officials.
