The 14th “Aero India 2023” exhibition will be held from 13th to 17th of next month at Yalahanga Airport in Bengaluru. Due to this, the Bengaluru local government has ordered that meat shops should be closed for a distance of 10 km around the airport.

In this regard, the order issued by BBMP has said: 30 to Feb. Public, butcher shop owners, non-vegetarian restaurant owners are advised to open all meat, poultry and fish shops within a radius of 10 km from Yalahanga Airport till 20th.

Violators of this order will be punished under Section 91 of the BBMP Act 2020, Indian Civil Aviation Act 1937.

Regarding the ban, BBMP officials said, “Birds like vultures, who are nature’s cleaners, come to eat the meat waste dumped in public places. Due to this, such birds flying in the sky may collide with the planes and increase the damage. This ban is being imposed.”

The Department of Defense under the Ministry of Defense last year announced Aero India, a biennial event in India. Aero India is considered to be the largest air show in Asia. The first three days of the five-day fair are for traders. On the last two days, the public is allowed to visit the air show.

Commenting on the exhibition, Karnataka Chief Minister Basaraj Pomi said on Tuesday that the 14th Aero India Exhibition to be held this year will be the largest exhibition with the largest number of participants. In this, he said that the heads of the defense department and the people from the airlines will participate.

Also, a total of 731 companies, 633 from India and 98 from abroad, have registered to participate in this exhibition.

The Aero India Exhibition, which has been held since 1996, is one of the premier aviation exhibitions in the world. So far 13 exhibitions have been held successfully. It is noteworthy that this exhibition was held only for 3 days last year 2021 due to Covid restrictions.
