Private Industry and Investment Adviser to the Prime Minister, Salman F Rahman, said that in the context of the existing experience of the country in the tourism sector, Bangladesh can work closely with the country for the development of the tourism sector, apart from implementing various product export and mutual investment opportunities in the Maldives.

He said these things in a meeting with Mohamed Ali Janah, Chief Adviser on Trade and Investment to the President of Maldives at the Gulshan office of the Adviser on Tuesday (February 20).

Salman F. Rahman said, ‘Detailed discussions were held in a sincere atmosphere regarding strengthening and diversifying trade and investment relations between the two countries. Besides, the tourism sector of Bangladesh can be prosperous if the experience of Maldives tourism sector can be used. There are also opportunities to join supply chains related to resorts and hotels in the Maldives. In addition, there is an opportunity to increase the employment of Bangladeshis in the country.

During the courtesy meeting, both emphasized the need to fully exploit the potential of bilateral trade-investment growth. Advisor to the President of Maldives, Mohamed Ali Janah said, ‘We can take integrated joint ventures that will be beneficial for the people of both countries. He expressed gratitude on behalf of his government to the Bangladeshi workers for their role in the economic development of Maldives.
