The Association of Banks of Mexico (ABM) reported that bank branches in the country will not operate this May 1 because it’s a holiday.

He specified that the operations will continue through ATMs, banking correspondents, digital, electronic and telephone banking.

In accordance with the general provision of the National Baking and Stock Commission (CNBV) that establishes non-business days in the financial sector, published in the Official Journal of the Federation On December 12, 2023, banking institutions will suspend their operations to the public also on Wednesday, May 1.

Los banks that offer their services within commercial warehouses and supermarkets, will open to the public this day, during traditional hours, despite the fact that it is a holiday.

The ABM reminds banking customers that they have at their disposal more than 62,800 ATMs and 53,000 banking correspondents; as well as digital, electronic and telephone banking, which operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

It is worth mentioning that the Law for the Transparency and Regulation of Financial Services establishes that, in the event that the deadline for a payment corresponds to a non-business day, the payment may be made on the following business day.
