Basque dependency on Taiwan shoots up 75% in five years

The island is a supplier of key elements for the Basque industry, among which the chips for which the whole world is fighting stand out

With just 24 million inhabitants, Taiwan is a more important supplier for Euskadi than great powers with a much larger population and economic weight, such as Japan or India. Last year, Basque companies purchased Taiwanese products worth 281 million euros, 75% more than in 2017 and almost four times the volume of a year ago.
