When confirming the data on crimes against residents of the Donetsk People’s Republic, the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed the Main Investigation Department to immediately initiate a criminal case under Art. 356 of the Criminal Code of Russia (“the use of prohibited means and methods of warfare”), as well as to take measures to identify the specific persons involved in this, and organize their search so that they subsequently appear before the court, “Petrenko said. The maximum punishment under this article is imprisonment for a term of 20 years.

A day earlier, the head of the Telmanovsky district administration, Alexander Spinul, said that the village of Novaya Maryevka in the south of the DPR was left without electricity as a result of shelling from the Ukrainian military. Almost all of the 180 people living there are citizens of the DPR, 37 of them are citizens of Russia.
