The Ministry of Labor and Employment (MTE) announced last Wednesday (03/01) a significant update to the FGTS Digital, aiming to assist employers in the efficient calculation of fines from the Service Time Guarantee Fund (FGTS). This functionality allows the calculation of fines in batches, ideal for when multiple contractual terminations occur simultaneously.

Functionality and operation

The new function allows the simultaneous import and processing of the remuneration history of several workers. This is particularly advantageous on occasions involving the payment of a termination fine due to dismissals.

Procedure for batch calculation

Initially, the employer must register the workers’ dismissal event through eSocial. Subsequently, FGTS Digital will synchronize the reported remunerations, allowing the verification and editing of any missing data directly on the platform, to accurately calculate the compensation due.

The “Import salary history for multiple workers” function allows mass editing of salaries, making the process more efficient. For the import to be successful, it is essential that the files follow the format specified in the FGTS Digital technical documentation.

Important Details

Employers must pay attention to the specifications of the files, which must comply with the standard established by the FGTS Digital technical documentation.

The remunerations used for the calculation are those prior to the implementation of FGTS Digital; subsequent ones are registered via eSocial and are not editable on the platform.

Testing and implementation phase

The functionality is currently in the testing phase, expected until January 13th, offering a valuable opportunity for employers to adapt to the system. During testing, the system considers January 2023 as the implementation date for simulated purposes.

This innovation in FGTS Digital represents a significant step in optimizing business management, facilitating the calculation of FGTS fines and promoting more efficient and precise administration. Employers are encouraged to explore and integrate this new functionality into their operations to improve termination processing and associated financial obligations.
