A week after winning the top game against VfL Wolfsburg, the FC Bayern Munich team defended their lead in the Bundesliga.
The team of coach Alexander Straus prevailed in a long, tough game 2-0 (0-0) at relegation candidates SV Meppen. Captain Lina Magull (50th minute) and the English European champion Georgia Stanway (penalty kick/65th) scored the goals for the guests in front of a record crowd of 3685 spectators in Meppen, who were eliminated in the Champions League quarter-finals at WFC Arsenal during the week.
FC Bayern remained without a goal in their sixth league game in a row. The three-time German champion had to do without the German national players Giulia Gwinn, Linda Dallmann, Carolin Simon and Maximiliane Rall. In the first half, Sydney Lohmann hit the post for the clearly superior Munich team, who for a long time found no means on the offensive.
