BBVA has added a new way to sign transactions and authorize payments in la ‘app’and includes a double verification of the signature with biometrics, as reported last week.
The new way of signing operations, which is done by pressing and holding the screen for a few seconds, is a new way of authorizing operations as an alternative for those clients who do not want or cannot use their fingerprint or face to carry out a transaction through the application.
The bank points out that, in this way, the client will be able to activate the option that best suits them at all times from the ‘app’ settings. That is, you can enable the signature with biometrics, signature with advance notice and biometrics or just the signature by clicking when you are interested.
“Its activation and use is simple, because it is no longer necessary to receive keys by SMS with confirmation or authorization codes, making the procedures much more comfortable,” explains the entity, before remembering that it was the first entity in Spain to offer the signature. with fingerprint or facial registration, since June 2021. Since its implementation, almost 50% of clients access with biometrics, while 15% of them already sign without confirming via SMS.
BBVA points out that, in no case, does it store or process the information biometric recorded by customers on their devices. The financial institution only offers the client the possibility of enjoying this service to carry out banking operations by validating their biometrics carried out by the device itself.
