“The President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan received the delegation led by the President of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Parliament Marketa Pekarova Adamova.

President Khachaturyan welcomed the guests and noted with satisfaction that historically formed friendly relations between Armenia and the Czech Republic continue to develop.

“I welcome you to the Republic of Armenia. I hope that during your visit we will get more information about our country and get to know it better. It is very important for us that our partners get a complete picture of the Republic of Armenia. Be sure that you are in a democratic country, where democratic values ​​are valued, where the country’s government and state institutions do everything to achieve new successes in strengthening democracy. Be sure that in this difficult situation we have been in for the past four years, we have not retreated from the path we have taken, on the contrary, we have become more convinced that these values ​​are the ones that will ensure prosperity and further development of Armenia,” the president said.

Referring to the bilateral relations between Armenia and the Czech Republic, Vahagn Khachaturyan noted. “We greatly appreciate and value our bilateral relations, the 30th anniversary of which was celebrated last year. They have been friendly and mutually beneficial. In this regard, I would like to thank you for your country’s support within the European Union, which is an additional incentive to face all the challenges we are facing.”

Marketa Pekarova Adamova thanked for the reception and specifically said: “We highly value our bilateral relations, which have a strong long-standing foundation, and we are here to further strengthen those ties. The process of becoming a democratic country is full of challenges, and in this respect we really see great progress in Armenia. It is very important for us to have prosperous, peaceful partners who share the same values, based on democracy, freedom, freedom of speech, free press, human rights, rule of law. It’s all very important and we fully support you in the process.”

During the meeting, issues related to the promotion of cooperation between the two countries in the economic, high-tech, cultural and other fields were discussed. The development of mutually beneficial partnership between Armenian and Czech business circles and the need to establish new ties was highlighted.

In his speech, the President of the Republic emphasized that the democratic reforms implemented in Armenia in recent years, the fight against corruption contributed not only to the establishment and strengthening of democratic institutions, but also had a positive impact on the economic life of the country, forming an attractive environment for economic activity and investments.

The interlocutors also highlighted close cooperation and high-level political dialogue both bilaterally and within the framework of the European Union.

During the conversation, reference was made to the general situation and developments in the region. In this context, President Vahagn Khachaturyan reaffirmed Armenia’s unequivocal position to achieve final and stable peace. The president emphasized that stability is in the interests of the region and partner countries beyond, as wider opportunities for economic development open up.”
