Oregon State Basketball Suffers Road Defeat to Pacific, 84-53

Oregon State’s men’s basketball team experienced a significant setback Friday evening, falling to Pacific 84-53 in Stockton, California. The loss drops the Beavers to an even 8-8 record on the season and 1-2 in West Coast Conference play.
First-Half Struggles Doom Beavers
The game began competitively, with both teams exchanging baskets early on. Pacific established a narrow lead, going up 13-8 at the first media timeout. However, the Tigers quickly expanded their advantage, building a 24-13 lead midway through the first half. Despite a brief Oregon State rally that brought the deficit down to seven points with two minutes remaining before halftime, Pacific maintained control, taking a commanding 49-34 lead into the break.
Pacific Dominates Second Half
Pacific continued its strong performance in the second half, extending its lead to as many as 35 points before ultimately securing a 31-point victory. The Beavers struggled to find consistent offense and were unable to contain Pacific’s scoring attack.
Munch and Ekissi Lead Oregon State Offense
Despite the team’s overall struggles, Johan Munch led the Beavers with 12 points and five rebounds, shooting 5-for-10 from the field. Keziah Ekissi also contributed 12 points off the bench, providing a spark for the Oregon State offense. Josiah Lake II added nine points despite facing challenges with injury and foul trouble. Dez White and Isaiah Sy each tallied eight points, with White also leading the team in rebounding with six boards.
Looking Ahead to Washington State
Oregon State will regroup and head to the “Evergreen State” on Sunday to face Washington State in Spokane. The Beavers will look to bounce back from this defeat and secure a much-needed victory against a Pac-12 opponent.
