“In terms of the timing and why they did it today, it’s about their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. They finished school today for the Easter holidays.
They’ve been out of school for about three or four weeks. While Kate Middleton and Prince William took the time to tell them and apparently there is no more difficult task for a parent to tell their children that one of them has cancer.
They finished school today, so Prince William and Kate Middleton can shield their children from the inevitable media coverage of the story.
They are on vacation, they can keep them away from their friends and school and social media. That’s why Kensington Palace made the announcement about Kate Middleton’s cancer today,” he notes.
