But after thirty-four years at the head of the commune of Baulne (1,400 inhabitants), and forty-seven as an elected official, Jacques Bernard (without label) decided to hand over the reins. He officially resigned and his replacement, Xavier Guilbert, already took over on October 10. To honor “this long journey in the service of the community”, a ceremony is being organized this Saturday.
