Three citizens of Belarus illegally crossed the Belarusian-Ukrainian border on July 4 and were detained by Ukrainian border guards. They came to the border by car with tobacco, which they planned to sell on Ukrainian territory.

One of the courts of the Rivne Region fined three Belarusian citizens who illegally crossed the Belarusian-Ukrainian border on July 4 in the direction of Haradnaya (Stolin District, Brest Region) — Vychovka (Varasky District, Rivne Region).

The Belarusians were detained by the border patrol in the northeast of the Ukrainian village of Vychavka at a distance of 800 meters from the border.

One Belarusian repented and admitted that together with two other citizens of Belarus, they drove to the Ukrainian border in a car that brought tobacco products for sale on Ukrainian territory. The court decision does not specify the amount of tobacco imported by Belarusians.

Two Belarusians were fined 8.5 thousand hryvnias, one – 13.6 thousand hryvnias (approximately 230 and 370 dollars in equivalent. – RS).

Since the beginning of the full-scale Russian military invasion of Ukraine, which took place including from Belarusian territory, the Ukrainian government approved the decision to close all checkpoints on the Ukrainian-Belarusian border. There is only one crossing point in the Volyn region – Ukrainian citizens returning from illegal deportation from Russia cross the border through it.
