Music producer and entrepreneur Fausto Pinna passed away at the age of 74 after a battle with lung cancer. He was a longtime partner of singer Iva Zanicchi (84). His illness forced her to cancel concerts and commitments in recent months to be by his side. Among those who sent their condolences was the Instagram profile of the Canale 5 show “Verissimo,” hosted by Silvia Toffanin: ”Dear Iva, we are with you during this immense pain of losing your beloved Fausto.” The funeral will be held in Lesmo (Monza) on August 9 at 3:30 PM at the Church of Santa Maria Assunta.
A relationship that began in 1987
Fausto Pinna was born in Sardinia in 1950. His relationship with Iva Zanicchi began in 1987. The artist first revealed her partner’s illness in 2020 during the television show ”Verissimo”: “During the first period of lockdown, Fausto and I were locked in the house, and I noticed that he wasn’t well. I managed to get him hospitalized in Milan, convinced it was a heart problem; instead, it was a serious tumor.” Zanicchi also mentioned on ”Verissimo” in 2023 that Pinna had been given just 3 months to live, and that three years had passed since that diagnosis. His health had deteriorated further in the past year due to a fractured vertebra.
