Benjamin Netanyahu Defies Calls for Ceasefire in Gaza by World Leaders

by time news

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has ignored pleas from world leaders, including Pope Francis, for a ceasefire in Gaza. The Israeli Defense Force (IDF) continued its bombardment campaign in the Gaza Strip, causing fires to engulf whole buildings. Netanyahu addressed IDF troops, stating that war would only end when Hamas was completely destroyed. Pope Francis called for humanitarian aid and help for injured Gazans, urging Netanyahu to stop the conflict “in the name of God.” The Foreign Minister of Jordan criticized Israel for “losing its humanity” during the war. The IDF announced that it had fully encircled Gaza City and was carrying out widespread strikes on Hamas infrastructure. Israeli troops are reportedly expected to enter Gaza City within 48 hours. Israel also accused Hamas of using hospitals in the Gaza Strip as military bases while preventing civilians from escaping. The IDF provided evidence to support these claims, including photos and video footage.
