In a few weeks, Joe Biden will realize that if Benjamin Netanyahu ignores the advice of the Americans, defies the demands of Washington and boasts of having “stand up to the United States” it is not because he has another, more informed strategy for this war, nor simply because he exercises Israel’s decision-making sovereignty.
The Biden government will realize that the Israeli Prime Minister is deliberately defying it in order to better be able to then accuse the American president of having “held the hand” and thus deprived him of the opportunity to eradicate Hamas.
If he does so, it is for purely political reasons, in line with the version of the facts that he fabricated, and which removes him from any guilt or responsibility for the attacks.
