Those who demand glitter in their lives were served this Friday, May 26 at the Stade de France in Saint-Denis (Seine-Saint-Denis). The American singer Beyoncé offered them a great show all with rhinestones, disco balls and outfits, each one brighter than the other. Right out of the RER, his fans also seemed to have spread the word. Not a young woman without a silver skirt, not a young man without a sheer, sparkly t-shirt, or a teenager without flashy jeans. On stage, the most awarded artist of the Grammy Awards, with thirty-two trophies, savors her eighth tour of the name of her last album, Renaissance, whose repertoire, very house music oriented, is on the program for a good half of the concert.

The 60,000 tickets for the Stade de France were snapped up in barely three quarters of an hour in February, like those for the Stade-Vélodrome in Marseille on June 11. For more than two and a half hours of show, the diva, 41-year-old businesswoman, wife of billionaire rapper Jay-Z and mother of three children, will unfold an effective and breathless show where she is both review leader, tireless clubber and impressive soul singer.

After his first song, Dangerously in Lovethe young woman with the impeccable brushing addresses her first words to another great lady: “I would like to take a second to pay tribute to Tina Turner, she said, speaking of the interpreter of Simply The Best, died the day before. If you’re a fan of mine, you’re a fan of Tina Turner. I wouldn’t be on this stage if she hadn’t been there… I feel blessed to have witnessed her brilliance and to perform once again here in Paris. Thank you for your loyalty… She can: tickets are expensive, from 80 euros to a few hundred euros for those who have chosen to experience the concert as closely as possible, in one of the VIP circles.

As in a nightclub, the lawn of the Stade de France has its privileged places, with the difference that no alcohol is served there. Only Lenny Kravitz taunts the audience with a glass of champagne. Above the sound and lighting booths, two golden platforms welcome Queen B’s guests, including Jay-Z of course, but also Pharrell Williams, newly appointed artistic director at Louis Vuitton, or Kris Jenner, the mother of the Kardashian girls… Despite these people, Beyonce Knowles remains close to her audience, slipping a happy birthday to those who hand her “It’s my B-day” signs, flashing complicit smiles, never stopping talking between each piece.
