Thiruvananthapuram ∙ Biju Prabhakar has informed the government that there is no difference of opinion with Transport Minister KB Ganeshkumar and that he is interested in vacating the post of KSRTC CMD and Transport Secretary as more duties affect his health.
KSRTC is headed by a great team of officials. That is why he decided to resign. The new minister KB Ganesh Kumar took over and told him that he would resign in his first meeting with him. The minister objected. Biju Prabhakar told ‘Manorama’ that even when he was directly told about this yesterday, the minister told him not to resign but to continue. Biju Prabhakar said that he gave the letter after persuading the Chief Secretary and was waiting for the government’s decision. 10 days leave was also taken with the permission of the Minister due to personal needs.
He currently holds 6 posts – Guruvayur Devaswom Commissioner and Kudalmanikyam Devaswom Commissioner in addition to the posts of Secretary, CMD of KSRTC and SWIFT and Chairman of KTDFC in the Transport Department itself. Last January during the previous minister’s tenure, he was asked to vacate not only the post of KSRTC CMD but also the post of transport secretary.
KSRTC’s previous record collection was in 2019 – 213 crores. Now it has reached 245 crores per month. Biju Prabhakar said that the daily income record was 8.5 crores and reached 9 crores.
KSRTC revenue almost doubled
Thiruvananthapuram ∙ KSRTC is also in the list of top five public sector organizations. In 2022 – 2023, the revenue of KSRTC is Rs 2410 crore. 1217 crore received in 2021-2022, a double jump. KSRTC can also boast that none of the other profitable corporations have seen such revenue growth. This achievement is due to the addition of various schemes for budget tourism and non-ticket income.
