Ilham Aliyev‘s number one goal is to conduct bilateral negotiations with Armenia and move the negotiations, which have reached a dead end, to the field proposed by him, Armen Rustamyan, deputy of the Hayastan faction, told reporters.

According to Rustamyan, now Azerbaijan is trying to ease the pressure on it.

“The second one, I’m sure, is trying to say that bilateral negotiations are the right thing. With this, Aliyev says: “see that we are negotiating bilaterally, what positive results are coming.” This can lead to the completion of the peace agreement and the transfer of negotiations to a bilateral format,” he said.

According to Rustamyan, bilateral negotiations are dangerous.

“There will be a conversation between the loser and the winner. Second, what does it mean to resolve issues in a bilateral format, does it mean that there are no issues left to resolve? When does the need for mediators arise, when the parties have non-agreed positions and their reconciliation is done with the participation of mediators? They provide an opportunity for what has already been achieved to be guaranteed,” emphasized the member of the “Armenia” faction.
