BJP wins 40 seats in Goa- Dinamani

The BJP has won 20 seats in the Goa assembly elections with the completion of the polls.

In Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Goa, Uttarakhand and Manipur, the Assembly polls began in the morning. In Punjab, the Aam Aadmi Party has won 92 seats and is in power.

In Goa, the BJP has won 20 of the 40 constituencies. Congress has won 11 seats and emerged as the second largest party. Independent candidates won 3 seats. The Maharashtra Gomantak Party has won 2 seats and the Goa Front has won one seat.

According to the Election Commission, the BJP received 33.31 percent of the vote. The Congress got 23.46 per cent votes, the Maharashtra Gomantak Party 7.60 per cent, the Aam Aadmi Party 6.77 per cent and the Trinamool Congress 5.21 per cent.
