Negotiations between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Jordan Ayman al-Safadi and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken are taking place in Amman, they are dedicated to efforts to achieve a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

As Day.Az reports with reference to TASS, this was reported by Al Mamlaka TV channel with reference to a statement by the Kingdom’s Foreign Ministry.

“The parties are discussing ways to quickly end hostilities in the Palestinian enclave and measures to protect civilians in accordance with international humanitarian law,” the text notes. “Mechanisms for lifting restrictions that impede the flow of humanitarian aid to all areas of the Gaza Strip are also discussed in order to avoid worsening humanitarian crisis.”

Blinken arrived in Amman from Riyadh, where he attended a special session of the World Economic Forum in Davos and held talks with a number of Arab ministers. He will meet with King Abdullah II of Jordan and Senior Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs and Reconstruction in Gaza Sigrid Kaag.
