Israel will never fully integrate into the region, just as it will not achieve peace without a path leading to Palestinian statehood, Antony Blinken declared at a press conference held in Tel Aviv on Tuesday evening.

Blinken said all of America’s regional allies he met during his weeklong trip to the Middle East told him that reconciliation with Israel was possible and that they were ready to support a lasting solution that would end the long spiral of violence and guarantee Israel’s security. – However, for this, the independent Palestinian state must be established – claim the governments of the Middle Eastern states, according to Blinken.

The US Secretary of State expects a partnership from Israel for this. According to him, Israel must cooperate with the Palestinian leaders who want to lead their people to peaceful coexistence and good neighborly relations, and at the same time must stop all activities that undermine effective Palestinian self-determination.

Blinken admitted that the fight against Hamas is not easy. They attack from hospitals and schools, and fight among civilians, which he says poses an extraordinary challenge to the Israeli army. Along with that, he stated that

the death toll in Gaza is far too high, especially among children.

As is known, during the first three months of the Gaza conflict, twice as many civilians died in Israeli attacks as in the first two years of the Russian-Ukrainian war: on Tuesday, the number of dead was over 23,000, approximately forty percent of whom were minors.
