BMW X3: Siste generasjon ute av salg – dette er alternativene

by priyanka.patel tech editor

The popular BMW X3 SUV is no longer listed on BMW Norway’s website as a latest vehicle option, signaling a shift towards the automaker’s electric offerings. While the latest generation with a combustion engine is becoming increasingly rare to find new, a limited number remain available on the used car market. BMW is now heavily focused on the upcoming iX3, the second generation of its all-electric SUV, which is expected to arrive in 2026.

This move reflects a broader industry trend towards electrification, particularly in Norway, where incentives favor electric vehicles. The change also comes as BMW prepares to launch its “Neue Klasse” platform, with the iX3 being the first model to utilize the new architecture, promising improved efficiency, charging capabilities, and software.

A Limited Supply of the Current Generation

Currently, three X3 models are listed for sale on Finn.no, Norway’s popular online marketplace, according to reporting from TV 2. These include two plug-in hybrid models and one X3 M50i xDrive. The M50i boasts a 3-liter inline-six engine with mild-hybrid technology, delivering a total output of 398 horsepower and accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds. This performance-oriented model, a 2025 version with 23,000 kilometers, is listed for 1,399,000 kroner.

The Appeal of the X3 30e

For many buyers, the plug-in hybrid X3 30e remains an attractive option due to favorable tax benefits and the ability to drive on electric power for shorter commutes. The X3 30e offers an electric range of 86 kilometers, potentially covering the daily needs of many drivers. This model combines a 2-liter gasoline engine with an electric motor, producing a combined output of 299 horsepower and achieving a 0-100 km/h time of 6.2 seconds.

Currently, well-equipped X3 30e models are listed with price indications starting around 1.2 million kroner, including features like the M-package, 21-inch summer wheels, 20-inch winter wheels, a tow hitch, illuminated grille, a sunroof, and a Harman Kardon stereo system. The X3 30e also boasts a towing capacity of 2 tons, matching that of the all-electric iX3.

BMW’s Focus on Electric Vehicles

BMW is prioritizing the iX3 as the vanguard of its “Neue Klasse” electric vehicle family. The new generation is expected to deliver lower energy consumption and a significantly improved charging and software experience. Demand for the new iX3 has reportedly exceeded BMW’s expectations, even surpassing orders for the gasoline-powered X3. According to BMW, the outgoing X3 had a significant backlog of orders in Europe before production ceased in the spring of 2025.

Deliveries of the new iX3 are slated to begin in 2026 following its international unveiling in the autumn of 2025. Potential buyers can already submit requests for quotes and explore price indications on BMW Norway’s website, though official deliveries are not expected until next year.

As BMW transitions to an electric future, the availability of the X3 30e on the used market offers a potential pathway for those seeking a blend of practicality, performance, and efficiency. Interested buyers can find more information and explore available models on websites like Finn.no. The official launch of the new iX3 in 2026 will mark a significant step in BMW’s electrification strategy, and further details will be released as the launch date approaches.
