San Salvador. A delegation of nine Salvadoran athletes traveled to the United States to participate in the Pan American Bodybuilding Championships and the IFBB Miami Grand Prix 2023, to be held at the James L. Knight Center in Miami, from September 8 to 10.
The athletes who will represent the country in these competitions are the winners of the 72nd edition of Mister and Miss El Salvador Absoluto.
In the Bikini 163 cm modality, Aminta “Jean” López, athlete from the Esfuerzo y Gloria program, will be the Salvadoran representative. In the same test, but in the 160 cm category, Andrea Santamaría will participate.
López participated in the previous edition of the Pan American and achieved second place in Bikini Master and third place in the Bikini Fitness 168 cm modality.
Yesenia Constanza and María Lourdes Pacas will compete in Bodyfitness 163 cm and +163 cm, respectively. Constanza also repeats her participation in the Pan American and in the previous edition she placed second in the Bodyfitness Open.
While Laura Parada, also an athlete from the Effort and Glory Program, will seek to stand out in the 160 cm Wellness modality. In the last version of this event, Parada finished in second place in this same modality.
Verónica Rodríguez will participate in Fit Model Libre, while César Escobar will compete in Men’s Physique 176 cm.
Luisa Rodríguez, from the Wellness 163 cm category, and Edwin Pérez, from the Bodybuilding 70 kg category, will participate in the contest after obtaining the endorsement of the FSFC after successfully passing the technical checks.
The athletes will seek to qualify for the finals and place El Salvador in the top 3 in the different modalities. In the last edition of said event in Miami, El Salvador obtained three silver and one bronze.
The Salvadoran team thus participates in an important training session, a double event composed of the Pan American Championship, an official event, and the Miami Grand Prix, a world-class event, where the delegation has the possibility of increasing and consolidating the competitive level in the region.
