Barnett was in charge of Boeing’s quality control and “revealed extremely serious safety problems with the 787 Dreamliner, resulting in retaliation and a hostile work environment,” the lawyers said.

Boeing said in a statement that it was “saddened by Mr. Barnett’s death.”
