Baystate Ob/Gyn Group Expands Services, Welcomes New Providers to Western Massachusetts

Baystate Ob/Gyn Group, Inc. (BOGG), the largest privately owned women’s healthcare practice in Massachusetts, is bolstering its commitment to the Pioneer Valley with significant growth and expanded access to care. The practice has added a physician and four certified nurse midwives in the last five months and opened a new office location in Agawam, scheduled to begin serving patients in November 2025.

Addressing Growing Healthcare Needs in the Pioneer Valley

This expansion reflects BOGG’s dedication to meeting the evolving healthcare needs of women throughout Western Massachusetts. The addition of skilled professionals and a new facility underscores the practice’s position as a leading provider of comprehensive women’s healthcare.

Introducing the New Team Members

The newly expanded team brings a wealth of experience and a patient-centered approach to care.

Dr. Kelsey Carman, an ob/gyn physician, joins BOGG after completing her residency at Baystate Medical Center. Her diverse background, having lived in California, Michigan, and Thailand, informs her open-minded and compassionate approach to patient care. Dr. Carman was recognized for her teaching excellence with the Outstanding House Staff award from UMass Chan Medical School and received the Dr. Michael Plevyak Patient Advocacy Award for her dedication to high-quality, empathetic care. “I find so much joy in the full spectrum of Ob/Gyn care — delivering babies, performing gynecologic surgery, discussing contraception, and developing lifelong connections with people,” she stated.

Joining Dr. Carman are four highly qualified certified nurse midwives:

  • Stefanie Beekmann, CNM, brings valuable experience in both emergency medicine and women’s health. A Western Massachusetts native and graduate of the Baystate Midwifery Education Program, Beekmann is focused on providing person-centered care and shared decision-making. She is also a certified sexual assault nurse examiner for the state of Massachusetts, highlighting her commitment to comprehensive care.
  • Andrea Romano, CNM, a 2018 graduate of the Baystate Midwifery Education Program, has been serving the Pioneer Valley community since completing her training. Romano emphasized the privilege of supporting women through all stages of life, stating, “One of my favorite parts of being a midwife is getting to see my patients growing their families… Every phase of a woman’s life is important and individualized and that’s what I hope to teach women in my care from adolescence to menopause.”
  • Ali Pinschmidt, CNM, previously served midwifery patients in several Western Massachusetts hospitals and brings experience as a birth doula. Pinschmidt prioritizes evidence-based care tailored to each patient’s unique values and circumstances. “I’m passionate about helping patients understand their bodies and how they work, and providing information so patients can make choices about what works best for them at this time in their lives,” she explained.
  • Alli Allard, CNM, earned her nursing degree from Our Lady of the Elms College and completed midwifery training at Baystate Medical Center and Thomas Jefferson University. Allard is dedicated to empowering and advocating for her patients, emphasizing the importance of shared decision-making and evidence-based practice. “My passion is strong for supporting women in all stages of life and helping families with their journey through childbirth,” she noted.

A Commitment to Comprehensive Women’s Health

The expansion of BOGG’s team and facilities demonstrates a clear commitment to providing accessible, high-quality ob/gyn services to the women of Western Massachusetts. The practice’s focus on patient-centered care, combined with the expertise of its providers, positions it to continue serving as a vital resource for the community for years to come.
