Police Intervention foils Armed Attack in Bolzano Bar
Yesterday morning, the Bolzano Police Headquarters received an emergency call reporting a violent altercation at the “Bar Zona” on via Enzo Ferrari. Upon arrival, officers discovered a foreign citizen, completely drunk, throwing chairs and glasses, and threatening patrons.
The individual violently resisted the police, injuring one officer. After bringing the situation under control, police identified the suspect as SH, a 24-year-old Moroccan citizen with a history of criminal offenses. Investigation revealed that SH arrived at the bar already intoxicated, argued with customers, and demanded alcoholic drinks. When his request was denied, he smashed a glass, threatened patrons with the shards, and physically assaulted both the manager and an employee.
Following the intervention, SH was arrested and charged with assault, violence, and resisting a public official. Additionally, the Chief of Police Paolo Sartori revoked SH’s residence permit and ordered his expulsion from Italy.
“This is yet another attack on a police officer during an intervention, the umpteenth one in recent times in Bolzano,” said Chief Sartori. “Anyone who visits or works in a public establishment has the right to do so in peace, without fearing for their safety or facing threatening behavior.”
