The humanitarian situation continues to deteriorate in the Gaza Strip. In addition to the incessant Israeli bombings, the torrential rains also give no respite to the Palestinian people.

At the World Refugee Forum in Geneva, Philippe Lazzarini, head of the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) said Gaza is “hell on earth”.

“The people of Gaza are running out of time and options as they face bombings, poverty and disease in an increasingly small territory. Palestinians are going through the darkest chapter in their history since 1948, and it has been a painful story,” he described.

This Wednesday, the head of Israeli diplomacy assured that the war against Hamas in the Gaza Strip will continue “with or without international support”. A ceasefire is out of the question for now.

The Israeli army announced the alleged seizure of weapons, ammunition and explosives, and the discovery of tunnels and explosives laboratories in the Jenin refugee camp. Several Palestinians were killed and others arrested.
