Buch der Freunde was born on the occasion of the twenty years of activity of LunGrabbe, an acronym born in November 1999 in Naples at the behest of Domenico Mennillo and Rosaria Castiglione. The volume contains 28 texts, created by poets, scholars and artists (including Stelio Maria Martini, Iain Chambers, Tiziana Terranova, Tommaso Ottonieri, Stefano Taccone, Pierandrea Amato, Maurizio Zanardi), born on the occasion of environmental theater performances, installations- expo and events organized by lunGrabbe from 2001 to 2020; most of the writings presented in chronological order have never been published. In the appendix, on the other hand, there are the scores of three performances by Mennillo made between 2014 and 2020, namely POEMA VISIVO 1976, Due Distici (born in Paris in collaboration and in complicity with Jean-Franois Bory) and Hypno-Mnemata. The structure and the index (with some variations) follow the previous volume by Mennillo Some Architectures of Naples 2003-2013. The LunGrabbe theater in Neapolitan architecture (edited by Raffaella Morra and Loredana Troise, drawings by Rosaria Castiglione, Morra / em arts editions, Naples 2014). Both volumes, exhibited during the presentation, are conceived as artist’s books and made in particular caskets in loose issues, produced with fine papers and sophisticated typographic techniques.

Domenico Mennillo, graduated in Aesthetics at the Federico II University of Naples, has been involved in environmental theater and site specific installations since 1999, creating performances, exhibitions, films and literary research publications; his works are featured in national and international festivals and reviews such as La Biennale di Venezia X. International Architecture Exhibition, La Triennale di Milano, Progetto XXI / Donnaregina Foundation for Contemporary Arts, Fresco Bosco (curated by Achille Bonito Oliva), XI . Napoli Teatro Festival Italia (directed by Ruggero Cappuccio).

From 2001 to 2020 he created the Abrg d’Histoire Figurative contemporary art and philosophy project at museums, universities and public and private foundations in the city of Naples.

For environmental theater, performance and poetic research he has published several volumes and artist books, including: Partiture Visive. Theater of Architecture, EM Arts 2004; Sheet of Jousting and Film in the city, book-CD box set with Perino & Vele (IL LABORATORIO / edizioni 2007); Opus Infectum. Poems 1999-2008, Bibliopolis 2010; CITYSCAPE, artist’s book with Christian Leperino, THE LABORATORY / editions 2012; The bridges of the gray merla, artist’s book with Raffaela Mariniello, Edizioni dl Merlo 2016.

With Jean-Franois Bory he directs in France, for the posillipo & seine dition, the Festina Lente series, dedicated to the study of the artistic avant-gardes of Paris and Naples. He is editor and editor of the international magazine 591, published since 2016 by Redfoxpress (Ireland) and Les presses du rel (France).
