New Delhi: Indian Railways has made it easier to book train tickets through the UTS App. The Railway Board has issued a notification for this.
Booking tickets for non-suburban trains without reservation through the UTS App is currently only available within a radius of 5 km from the railway station. This perimeter has now been increased to 20 km. Similarly, tickets for non-reserved suburban trains can be booked through the UTS App, currently only within a radius of 2 km from the railway station. This perimeter has now been increased to 5 km.
The Railway Board has issued instructions in this regard to all railway zones across the country. The railway board said that this concession has been given in response to the long-standing demand of train passengers. Further, the Railway Board has given permission to each zone to increase the radius of 5 km to 10 km following the existing rules for booking tickets for suburban trains through UTS App.
Indian Railways has launched UTS App to book tickets for unreserved trains, monthly tickets and station platform tickets through mobile. It is worth noting that this app can be downloaded for free and online payment can be made to get train tickets easily.
