Düsseldorf Bosch employees should soon have a kind of ChatGPT for work: “We will have our own BoschGPT by the end of the year at the latest and activate it for all employees,” says Tanja Rückert, Managing Director of Bosch, to the Handelsblatt.
What is meant is a language model based on artificial intelligence (AI) that understands human language and can generate text itself. As with the well-known chatbot from OpenAI, Bosch employees should be able to speak and write with BoschGPT as with another person. Bosch obtains the technology for this from the Heidelberg start-up Aleph Alpha.
BoschGPT should provide answers based on all the information in its own database. So far, Bosch knowledge in the database can only be found using keywords. In order to find specific information, Bosch associates have to know pretty well what they are looking for.
