Boston Harbor to Sparkle with ‘The Rink x Tall Ship’ Waterfront Winter Experience

A new winter wonderland is set to transform Boston’s waterfront, offering ice skating, festive entertainment, and stunning city views from January 16, 2026, through March 30, 2026. The “Rink x Tall ship” experience promises a unique blend of seasonal activities and culinary delights at The Tall Ship, located at 1 East Pier Drive in East Boston, MA.
A Winter Escape on the Harbor
The waterfront will come alive with a variety of attractions, designed to appeal to all ages.According to a company release,the experience will feature ice skating on an outdoor rink and skate loop,ice bumper cars for a playful twist,and cozy chalet lounges offering dedicated beverage service. Visitors can also enjoy festive food and drinks at a twenty-five foot ice bar, all while taking in the backdrop of the Boston skyline.
Key Dates and Hours of Operation
The experience kicks off with a preview period from January 16th to February 10th, including special events for MLK Day (11 AM – 10 PM). The Grand Opening is scheduled for Tuesday, February 11th, from 3 PM to 6 PM. Regular hours of operation will be:
- Monday – Thursday: 3 PM – 10 PM
- Friday – Sunday: 11 AM – 10 PM
Several themed skate nights are also planned:
- Learn to Skate: Every Sunday, 9:00 AM – 9:45 AM
- Townie Skate: Every Monday, 4:00 PM – 10:00 PM

Activities and Admission Costs
Ice skating sessions will last 60 minutes, with advance tickets recommended due to limited space. Admission is $18 per person,with skate rentals available for $7. For those seeking a more adventurous experience, ice bumper cars offer a unique way to glide, spin, and bump across the ice.Rides are $15 for 8 minutes, and are available for ages 6+ and those at least 42 inches tall.
The highly anticipated chalet lounges are “coming soon,” offering a reserved space with dedicated beverage service for a cozy après-skate experience.
Dining and Parking
Visitors can enjoy “elevated comfort and ski lodge fare” alongside cocktails at the ice bar. Parking will be provided by Boston Valet at a rate of $30 per vehicle.
