Yesterday (Sunday) afternoon, an African-American man attacked a Chabad follower in the Crown Heights neighborhood, punched him in the face – and threw off his hat.

A few hours later, New York police announced that they had captured the attacker.

The incident took place on Crown Street and Troy Avenue, around 4:30 p.m.

A patrol of ‘guard’ volunteers received immediate notice of the incident, and together with New York police officers, were able to apprehend the suspect and arrest him.
