BIRMINGHAM: India’s Amit Pangal in the quarter-finals of the 2022 Commonwealth Games Boxing. In the men’s flyweight (48 kg-51 kg) category, Amit defeated Vanuatu’s Namri Beri to reach the quarterfinals.
Amit Pangal is India’s gold hope in this event. The Indian player won the one-sided pre-quarter with a score of 5-0.
Amit had won a silver medal in the same category in the last Commonwealth Games. Amit won a gold medal at the 2018 Asian Games and has won gold, silver and bronze at the Asian Championships. The player made history by winning silver in the 2019 World Championships.
